The South Kingstown Girls’ Volleyball team defeated the
Chariho Chargers in a nail biter, 3-2, on Tuesday. The three game win streak brings the Lady Rebels to a 4-5 record on the season.
“It was definitely a big win,” said senior captain Allie Jones. “We started out the year pretty rough and with each game we’re starting to get better and playing more as a team. Each win is a confidence booster.”
The Rebels won the first two matches with a combined margin of 12 points. However, Chariho rallied back to take the next two games, 16-25 and 24-26. Chariho’s comeback attempt was ended by a 17-15 fifth set victory.
Alyssa LeValley proved to be a key player in the Rebels victory.
“She’s really stepped up her game and has become a key player as a sophomore,” said Jones. “She puts the ball away when we need her to. She’s unstoppable now and I can’t wait to see how amazing she is her senior year.”
The Lady Rebels face off in an important match against the Prout Crusaders Friday, October 2nd.
